Fu Chang Xin, 25, was one of the hometown heroes who competed at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China on July 7, 2018. It marked the Chinese mixed martial artist’s first fight and first win in ONE Championship.
Fighting out of Harbin, China, Fu competed against Rustem “Actor” Yensebayev, 28, of Almaty, Kazakhstan at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.” It was the seventh bout of the evening.
“ONE: Battle for the Heavens” featured seven MMA matches and three striking-only bouts under ONE Super Series. Fu and Yensebayev battled it out in one of the MMA bouts in the featherweight division with Yuji Shimada as the referee.
Shimada raised Fu’s hand as the winner.
After defeating Yenseyaev at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” Fu improved his professional MMA record to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, the Kazakh’s record downgraded to 1 win and 8 losses.
In the co-main event of the evening, Reece “Lightning” McLaren, 26, of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia competed against Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada, 29, of Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan in the flyweight division.
In the main event, Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand and Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Taiwan competed for the inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship.
