Fighting out of Thailand, Saemapetch Fairtex, 23, has just made a successful debut in ONE Championship. On July 7, 2018, the Thai martial artist defeated his Lithuanian opponent in the promotion’s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” which took place at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China.
“ONE: Battle for the Heavens” featured seven MMA matches and three striking-only bouts under ONE Super Series. In the sixth bout of the evening, Saemapetch battled it out with Deividas “The Savage Sitsongpeenong” Danyla, 26, of Lithuania.
With Atsushi Onari, Saemapetch and Danyla competed in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight bout. Like the Thai contender, the Lithuanian martial artist made his ONE Super Series debut.
After three rounds, the Muay Thai contest was left in the hands of the judges. Onari raised Saemapetch’s hand as the winner via unanimous decision.
In the co-main event of the evening, Reece “Lightning” McLaren, 26, of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia competed against Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada, 29, of Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan in the flyweight division.
In the main event, Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand and Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Taiwan competed for the inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship.
