Fighting out of Thailand, “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 28, was not able to get the win when he first fought in the ONE Super Series ring. ONE Championship has given the Thai martial artist a chance to redeem himself as he is scheduled to compete in the promotion’s striking-only league for the second time.
A Muay Thai contest between Nattawut and Yohann Fairtex Drai, 26, of France has been booked for “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” which will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 13, 2018. They will compete in the featherweight division.
The ONE Super Series Muay Thai featherweight bout between Nattawut is the co-main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Power.” It will be the ninth bout of the evening.
This is the first time ONE Championship is bringing ONE Super Series to Malaysia. The promotion’s striking-only league was launched on April 20, 2018 at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” in Metro Manila, Philippines.
Nattawut competed in a kickboxing contest at a catchweight of 70kg in the co-main event of “ONE: Heroes of Honor” against Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan, 32, of Italy. The latter won the contest via unanimous decision.
A two-division Lion Fight World Champion and World Muaythai Council (WMC) Muay Thai World Champion, Nattawut is one of the finest attacking talents in the striking world. Right from the opening bell, he ignites the ring with his trademark intensity and it has led him to sterling success in his striking career.
In 2013, Nattawut moved to the United States where his successful martial arts career continued. Currently, he holds a professional record downgraded to 66 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws.
In the main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 22, will face Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 27, of Sweden. They will compete in the welterweight division.
