As a professional wrestler, “The Underdog” Li Kai Wen, 22, of Tianjin, China has 50 wins and 8 losses. As a professional mixed martial artist, he has just improved his record to 9 wins and 4 losses.

On July 13, 2018, ONE Championship returned to Malaysia  for “ONE: Pursuit of Power” featuring 8 MMA matches and 3 striking bouts in ONE Super Series. The fourth bout of the evening was a featherweight MMA contest between Li and “The Honey Badger” Urrutia, 31, of Miami, Florida.

Taking place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, “ONE: Pursuit of Power” marked Li’s 10th ONE Championship bout. For Urrutia, it was his fourth outing in the promotion.

Referee Olivier Coste put a stop to the featherweight bout between Li and Urrutia at 1:22 of Round 3 when the Chinese contender knocked out his American opponent. After losing to Li, Urrutia now has 11 wins and 6 losses.

Before facing Urrutia at “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” Li made history by claiming the fastest knockout in the featherweight division of ONE Championship. On June 23, 2018, he knocked out Rodian “The Redeemer” Menchavez, 28, of the Philippines at 0:10 of Round 1 at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China.

Li started his martial arts training in a local gym in his hometown called Tianjin Top Team. In December 2014, he became the ONE Featherweight Beijing Tournament Champion after winning two bouts in a single night.

In the main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” Agilan “Alligator” Thani of Malaysia and Zebastian “The Bandit” Kadestam of Sweden competed in the welterweight division. The Swedish contender knocked out the hometown hero in the third round.

In the co-main event of the evening, ONE Super Series athletes “Smokin” Jo Nattawut of Thailand and Yohann Fairtex Drai of France battled it out in a Muay Thai contest in the featherweight division. The Thai contender knocked out his French opponent in the first round.

“ONE: Pursuit of Power” is the second ONE Championship event to take place in Malaysia in 2018. The first one was “ONE: Visions of Victory,” which took place at the Axiata Arena on March 9, 2018.
