ONE Championship’s Nong-O Gaiyanghadao to compete at ‘ONE: Kingdom of Heroes’ in Bangkok

Fighting out of Bangkok, Thailand, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 32, made his successful ONE Super Series on April 20, 2018 at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” in the Philippines. For his second bout in ONE Championship’s striking-only league, he will compete in front of his countrymen.

Thai fight fans will witness Gaiyanghadao compete at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” on October 6, 2018. His opponent has yet to be announced.

With ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, the promotion conducted a “ONE: Heroes of Honor” press conference on July 9, 2018 at the W Hotel in Bangkok. During the event, Gaiyanghadao stated, “It was such a surreal experience for me the first time I stepped into the ONE Championship ring.”

“This time, I will be given the chance to compete on the world’s most premier martial arts stage in front of my countrymen,” the Thai martial artist continued. “Thank you, ONE Championship, for the opportunity to have this grand homecoming in October. I am truly honored and will make everyone proud.”

“I can’t wait for October,” Gaiyanghadao added. He currently holds a professional kickboxing record of 256 wins, 54 losses and 1 draw, which he aims to improve at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes.”

Thai boxing purists consider Gaiyanghadao as one of the top pound-for-pound Muay Thai practitioners in the world. He is a four-time Lumpinee Stadium champion, a Rajadamnern Stadium champion, two-time Thailand national champion and a two-time Fighter of the Year.

A five-division world champion in Muay Thai, Gaiyanghadao is known for the incredible speed, power and precision behind all his strikes. In his ONE Super Series debut, he defeated Fabio Pinca, 34, of France via unanimous decision.

Aside from Gaiyanghadao, Thai ONE Championship athletes Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, 33, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, 31, and Petchmorrakot Wor. Sangprapai, 24, will also compete in ONE Super Series at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes.” In the main event, Sor Rungvisai will defend World Boxing Council Super Flyweight World Champion title in the promotion’s first ever boxing match.
