Set on October 6, 2018 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” will make history as the first ONE Championship event to feature mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing on one card. Petchmorrakot Wor. Sangprapai, 24, will be one of the hometown heroes to compete.

Before “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes,” ONE Championship launched a striking-only league ONE Super Series. Petchmorrakot made his debut in the league at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power”  at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China where he defeated his French opponent Fabrice Fairtex Delannon via doctor stoppage.

Petchmorrakot’s opponent at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” has yet to be announced. On July 9, 2018, he was one of the Thai martial artists who attended the press conference for the upcoming event along with ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, 47, at the W Hotel in Bangkok.

“This is going to be a big event on 6 October,” Petchmorrakot said during the “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” press conference. “For the first time in history, the best of the best from different combat sports will join together.”

“I am excited for this, especially for Muay Thai,” Petchmorrakot added. “I am ready to take this next step into my career. This is a chance for me to showcase my skills to the world and to show fans the beauty of Muay Thai.”

Hailing from Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand’s northern Isan region, Petchmorrakot has already defeated some of the biggest names in Muay Thai, earning multiple accolades in the process. Spurred by his success and proven talent, he went on to claim the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium World Championship in two divisions and the World Muaythai Council Muay Thai title in a career spanning almost 200 professional bouts.

Aside from Petchmorrakot, Thai ONE Championship athletes Yodsanklai “The Boxing Computer” IWE Fairtex, 33, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 32, and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, 31, will also compete in ONE Super Series at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” while Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai, 29, and Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 29, will compete in MMA bouts. Sor Rungvisai will defend his World Boxing Council Super Flyweight World Champion title in the main event.
