Fighting out of Sweden,  Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 27, has just earned his 10th win as a professional mixed martial artist. It is also his second win in ONE Championship.

On July 13, 2018, Kadestam and Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 22, competed in the welterweight division at “ONE: Pursuit of Power” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Olivier Coste put a stop to the welterweight bout between Kadestam and Thani in the third round. The Swedish contender knocked out his Thai opponent.

This is the second time Kadestam won via knockout in ONE Championship. The first time was on May 26, 2017 at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore where he knocked out Luis “Sapo” Santos, 38, of Brazil.

In the post-fight interview with Mitch “The Dragon” Chilson in the cage, Kadestam acknowledged how tough an opponent Thani was. The Swedish fighter said he felt his hand broken in the first round but he still continued and trusted his striking skills.

By defeating Thani at “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” Kadestam improved his professional MMA record to 10 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Thani’s record downgraded to 9 wins and 2 losses.

The co-main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Power” was a Muay Thai contest in the featherweight division between “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 28, of Thailand and Yohann Fairtex Drai, 26, of France. The Thai contender knocked out his French opponent in the first round.

“ONE: Pursuit of Power” is the second ONE Championship event to take place in Malaysia in 2018. The first one was “ONE: Visions of Victory,” which took place at the Axiata Arena on March 9, 2018.

“ONE: Visions of Victory” was co-headlined by Thani and Amitesh Chaubey, 27 of India. The Malaysian contender submitted his Indian opponent via kimura.

On May 26, 2017, Askren submitted Thani via arm-triangle choke at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. On September 2, 2017, the reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion knocked out Kadestam via punches at “ONE Championship: Shanghai” at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China.

After losing to Askren, Kadestam went on hiatus. This makes the Swedish fighter’s victory at “ONE: Pursuit of Power” a redemptive one.
