Hailing from Dagestan, Russia, Aziz Pahrudinov, 29, will make his ONE Championship debut on July 27, 2018 at “ONE: Reign of Kings.” He will compete in the lightweight division against former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, of Baguio City, Philippines.
“Facing a veteran and a former champion in Eduard Folayang in my debut is a tough challenge,” Pahrudinov admitted. “But I have prepared very well for this bout and I will leave the arena as the winner.”
Folayang and Pahrudinov had their face-off during the “ONE: Reign of Kings” press conference at the City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines on July 24, 2018. The fight night will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to be making my ONE Championship debut this Friday night,” Pahrudinov said. “ONE Championship is the best in Asian martial arts, and I am excited to be a part of it. I am sure this will do wonderful things for my career.
Pahrudinov holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 20 wins and 0 loss. He has been competing professionally since 2010 and out of his 20 victories, 13 came by way of submission while 6 were by knockout.
On the other hand, Folayang has 19 wins and 6 losses. He reigned as the ONE Lightweight World Champion from November 2016 to November 2017.
The lightweight bout between Folayang and Pahrudinov will be the eighth of the 11 bouts at “ONE: Reign of Kings.” There are two other lightweight bouts on the card.
In Pahrudinov’s most recent bout, he won at “Pancrase 291” via unanimous decision against Kenichiro Togashi, 37, of Japan. It was the first time the Dagestani fighter won neither via submission nor via knockout.
