Three elite martial artists are making their respective debuts in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Beyond the Horizon.” The most experienced of them is Daniel “The Rock” Dawson, 40, of Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
Dawson brings with him an extensive combined boxing and kickboxing record of 112 bouts with 93 wins, 57 of which were via knockout. With 26 years of experience under his belt, he has collected countless championships, including world championships in boxing and Muay Thai and eight world championship runs in kickboxing.
The Perth native has competed all over the world in promotions such as K-1, Shoot Boxing and Judgement Day. He finally steps onto the biggest stage of his career when he makes promotional debut.
“I’m really looking forward to be under the bright lights and in one of the biggest stages there is in martial arts,” Dawson stated. “Of course, for me to be able to compete on a stage like this, I’m one of those fighters that the bigger the crowd, the bigger the energy, the more I love it, so I’m just really excited and super pumped to be on this trip, on this show.”
“ONE: Beyond the Horizon” will take place at the Baoshan Arena in Shanghai, China on September 8, 2018. In the fourth bout of the evening, Dawson will compete in a kickboxing bout against Mustapha “The Flying Dragon” Haida, 29, of Florence, Italy.
Headlining “ONE: Beyond the Horizon” will be reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 30, of China and Samara “Marituba” Santos, 25, of Brazil. In the co-main event, Amir Khan, 28, of Singapore and former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 28, of the Philippines will compete in the lightweight division.
