Philippines vs Brazil: Stephen Loman, Felipe Efrain to fight at ‘Brave 18’ in Bahrain

The 18th event of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation will take place at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain on November 16, 2018. In the main event, reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of Baguio City, Philippines will defend his title from Felipe Efrain, 24, of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“Brave 18” marks Loman’s second title defense as the reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion. It will also be his fourth bout in the promotion.

Loman is the youngest champion in Brave CF and the first fighter from the Philippines to defend a championship title in the United Kingdom. He is training at Team Lakay under the tutelage of veteran coach Mark Sangiao.

On September 23, 2016, Loman made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 1: Bahrain” and defeated Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo, 28, of Ireland via unanimous decision. On November 17, 2017, the Team Lakay fighter returned to the Brave CF cage. He competed for the promotion’s inaugural bantamweight title against Gurdarshan Mangat at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.”

By knocking out Mangat via punches in the first round, Loman became the champion. The young Filipino champ was crowned the champion by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Bahrain. The Team Lakay fighter was also congratulated by His Excellency Alfonso Ver, Ambassador of the Philippines in Bahrain for his historic victory.

On June 9, 2018, Loman defended his belt for the first time in a rematch with Mlambo at “Brave 13: European Evolution” in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The fight was closely followed in Belfast and was attended by McGregor.

At “Brave 13: European Evolution,” Loman thrilled the world by dominating all five rounds of action to win the championship. Currently, the Team Lakay fighter is riding a five-bout winning streak and he has yet to be defeated in the Brave CF cage.

Training at Chute Boxe Lima in Sao Paulo, Efrain holds a professional MMA record  13 wins, 3 losses and 1 no-contest. He will be the first Brazilian fighter to compete for the bantamweight championship in Brave CF.

Efrain lost to Mlambo at “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises” on March 2, 2018. But on August 18, 2018, the Brazilian fighter redeemed himself by winning at “Brave 14” against Arnold Quero.

Including three victories in Brave CF, Loman has 10 wins and 2 losses. Meanwhile, here is a clip featuring the Team Lakay fighter:
