Featuring 12 bouts, “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 22, 2018. The first three bouts are matches between Indonesian mixed martial artists.
The curtain-raiser match of the event is a rematch between Riski “King Kong” Umar, 25, of Ternate, Indonesia and Eka “Egi Rozten” Aprilianto, 30, of Jakarta. They will battle it out in a 59-kilogram catchweight contest.
When Umar and Aprilianto first fought at “ONE: Kings of Courage” on January 20, 2018, the former knocked out the latter in the first round. If Umar wins at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes,” he will establish a two-bout winning streak after pulling off a second-round submission victory over Doan Birawa, 29, of Solo, Indonesia at “ONE: Grit and Glory” on May 12, 2018.
In the second “ONE: Kings of Courage” bout, Adrian “Papua Badboy” Mattheis, 25, and Angelo “The Unicorn King” Bimaodji, 21. Both from Jakarta, the two fighters will compete in the strawweight division.
Mattheis is the ONE Strawweight Indonesian Tournament Champion. Considered one of the top strawweights from Indonesia, the latter has faced some of the biggest names in ONE Championship, including Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, 39, of Iloilo, Philippines, Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai, 24, of Thailand and Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 39, of Trang, Thailand.
After yielding to Robin “Ilonggo” Catalan, 28, Iloilo at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” on July 7, 2018 via second-round submission, Mattheis looks to redeem himself at the expense of Bimaodji. A former Garuda Fight League champion, Bimaodji is making his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Kings of Courage.”
Slated as the third bout of “ONE: Kings of Courage” is a bantamweight bout between “The Terminator” Sunoto, 33, of Jakarta and Victorio “Indra” Senduk, 37, of Bandung, Indonesia.
Sunoto and Senduk are aiming to reinsert their names into the winner’s column after falling short in their respective most assignments in ONE Championship. Senduk lost to Sor Sey, 33, of Cambodia at “ONE: Grit and Glory” on May 12, 2018 and Sunoto lost to Shuya “Stealth” Kamikubo, 25, of Kanagawa, Japan at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” on July 7, 2018.
Aside from the three All-Indonesian matches, two more hometown favorites are on the “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” card. Priscilla “Thathi” Hertati Lumban Gaol, 30, of Jakarta will fight Jomary “The Zamboanganian Fighter” Torres, 22, of the Philippines in the atomweight division and in the co-main event, Stefer “The Lion” Rahardian, 31, of Jakarta and Peng Xue Wen, 22, of Zhongshan City, Guangdong, China will compete in the strawweight division.
The reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion is Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito, 34, of Matsudo, Chiba, Japan, who is headlining “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” with his challenger Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, 22, of the Philippines. Meanwhile, here is clip featuring Rahardian:
