In the co-main event of “ONE: Conquest of Heroes,” Peng Xue Wen, 22, of Zhongshan City, Guangdong, China will compete in the strawweight division against Stefer “The Lion” Rahardian, 31, of Jakarta, Indonesia. Recently, the Chinese contender shared his thoughts about the advantages of his Indonesian opponent over him.
“The biggest threat is that his Jiu-Jitsu is probably better than mine and his experience is more abundant than mine,” Peng said of Rahardian’s fighting skills and experience. “But that doesn’t matter.”
Peng is fully aware of what Rahardian’s advantages are. But for the fighter from Zhongshan City, these advantages will not matter once the cage door closes.
While Peng’s matchup with Rahardian is shaping up to be a grappler-versus-grappler contest, the Chinese contender already has a game plan in mind. Looking to start a streak of knockout victories, the Zhongshan City native is eyeing a knockout victory against the hometown favorite.
“I will try to end the bout standing,” Peng declared. “My strategy is to knock him out.”
Rahardian, for his part, will be coming into the bout hungry for a win after coming up short in his most recent bout against Rene “D’ Challenger” Catalan, 39, of the Philippines. On July 27, 2018, the Indonesian fighter had his very first mixed martial arts loss as he was defeated by his Filipino opponent at “ONE: Reign of Kings” via unanimous decision.
The loss to Catalan downgraded Rahardian’s professional MMA record to 9 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Peng currently has 2 wins and 3 losses.
“I have been working on my skills all the time,” Peng shared. “I want to be a great mixed martial artist.”
“ONE: Conquest of Heroes” will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. Meanwhile, watch the bout between Rahardian and Catalan here:
