Myanmar’s Ye Thway Ne, Mite Yine to clash at ‘ONE: Pursuit of Greatness’ in Yangon

Four hometown heroes will compete in the ONE Championship event titled “ONE: Pursuit of Greatness,” which will take place at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on October 26, 2018. The fight card features three ONE Super Series kickboxing contests and nine mixed martial arts matches.

Two Burmese ONE Championship athletes will battle it out in an MMA match in the fourth bout of the evening. Both fighting out of Myanmar, Ye Thway Ne, 21, and Mite Yine, 28, will battle it out in the bantamweight division.

Ye is a veteran Lethwei star and martial artist who made his ONE Championship debut in 2016. As a professional MMA fighter, he has 3 wins and 1 loss.

With a professional Lethwei record of 42 wins, 1 loss and 33 draws, Ye is a two-time Lethwei Gold Belt Champion. Known as a solid stand-up technician and an aggressive striker, he is as good a striker as he is an MMA fighter.

Like Ye, Mite is a two-time Lethwei Gold Belt Champion. Hailing from Kayin State, Myanmar, he has a professional Lethwei record of 35 wins, 8 losses and 15 draws and a professional MMA record of 1 win and 0 loss.

After a successful career in Myanmar’s national martial art, Mite made his MMA debut at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” on June. He won via a first-round technical knockout against.

In the main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Greatness,” two-division world champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33, of Myanmar will defend his ONE Middleweight World Championship title from undefeated fighter Mohammad “O Lutador” Karaki, 27, of Lebanon. The former is also the reigning ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion.

“ONE: Pursuit of Greatness” will be the second ONE Championship event in Myanmar in 2018. Here is the complete fight card:
