Cambodia, the United States and Ukraine were among the 16 countries represented at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” on December 7, 2018. The fight card featured seven mixed martial arts matches and four Muay Thai contests.
ONE Championship held “ONE: Destiny of Champions” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the first bout of the evening, Sovannahry “Savage Buddha” Em, 26, of Cambodia and the United States faced Iryna “Delsa” Kyselova, 23, of Ukraine.
Kyselova first became interested in martial arts at eight years old after watching it on television and immediately signed up to take judo classes. Driven by a competitive fire, she trained with the boys at her club and went on to participate in many other sports, including Muay Thai, boxing and wrestling.
In 2013, Kyselova made her professional debut and experienced instant success to start her career. The Ukrainian MMA fighter joined ONE Championship in March 2018.
“ONE: Destiny of Champions” marked Kyselova’s second ONE Championship bout. Training out of YK Promotion, she was the only Ukrainian on the card.
Hailing from Long Beach, California, USA, Em is a Cambodian-American prospect who was introduced to martial arts in 2012. She initially trained in boxing and Jiu-Jitsu.
Eventually, Em included wrestling, judo and Pradal Serey, an ancient martial art from the kingdom of Khmer, in her wide array of skills. Currently, she is training out of Fight Science MMA in Los Angeles, California, USA under the tutelage of Justen Hamilton.
Em made her ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” She and Chan Rothana, 32, were the only Cambodians on the card.
At “ONE: Destiny of Champions,” Em and Kyselova competed in an MMA bout in a catch weight of 63.5 kg. Kemp Cheng served as the referee.
Cheng put a stop to the flyweight contest after 1 minute and 21 seconds in the first round. The Cambodian-American ONE Championship debutante knocked out her Ukrainian opponent via strikes.
Winning at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” improved Em’s professional MMA debut to 3 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Kyselova now has 10 wins and 4 losses.
“ONE: Destiny of Champions” Main Events
In the co-main event of the evening, Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 23, of Malaysia and Kiamrian Abbasov, 25, of Kyrgyzstan competed in an MMA match in the welterweight division. The Kyrgyzstani contender submitted his Malaysian opponent via rear-naked choke in the first round.
In the main event, Yodsanklai “The Hero” IWE Fairtex, 32, of Thailand took on Luis “Macaco” Regis, 33, of Australia in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai contest. The Thai contender knocked out is Australian opponent in the first round.
Australia, Brazil, Chinese Taipei, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Thailand and the United Kingdom were also represented at “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” Check the complete results on Conan Daily.
