[PHOTOS] Russia vs USA: Raimond Magomedaliev, James Nakashima fight at ‘ONE: Conquest of Champions’ in the Philippines

Russia and the United States were among the 14 countries represented at “ONE: Conquest of Champions.” Taking place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, it is the fourth and last ONE Championship event in the Philippines in 2018.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” featured eight mixed martial arts matches, two Muay Thai bouts and two kickboxing contests. In the eighth bout of the evening, Raimond Magomedaliev, 28, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia faced James “Nako” Nakashima, 30, of Dwight, Illinois, United States.

Blue Corner

Nakashima is representing MMA Lab. He stands 178 cm tall.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” marked the American fighter’s ONE Championship debut. He previously competed in Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Alliance.

Red Corner

Magomedaliev is representing Eagles MMA. He stands 185 cm tall.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” marked the Dagestani fighter’s ONE Championship debut. He previously competing in Cage Fighting and Fight Nights Global.

Fight Result

Magomedaliev and Nakashima competed in an MMA bout in the welterweight division. They both entered the cage not only as ONE Championship debutantes but also as undefeated fighters.

After three five-minute rounds, the welterweight bout between Magomedaliev and Nakashima was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, referee Atsushi Onari raised the hand of the American contender, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

By winning at “ONE: Conquest of Champions,” Nakashima was able to keep his undefeated record and he now has 10 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Magomedaliev is no longer undefeated as the loss downgraded his professional MMA record to 5 wins and 1 loss.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” Main Events

In the co-main event of the evening, Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, of Baguio City, Philippines and Amir Khan, 23, of Singapore competed for the vacant ONE Lightweight World Championship. After five five-minute rounds, the Filipino contender won via unanimous decision.

In the main event, Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, 35, of Terracina, Latina, Italy challenged reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of Manila, Philippines. The Filipino defending champion knocked out his Italian challenger in the first round.
