Gianni Subba, 26, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently talked about his “ONE: Destiny of Champions” opponent “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, 24, of Jiangxi, China. The Malaysian mixed martial artist is training out of Bali MMA in Bali, Indonesia.

ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Destiny of Champions” on December 7, 2018 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. In the eighth bout of the evening, Subba and Ma will battle it out in the flyweight division.

“Ma Hao Bin is a young and strong opponent,” Subba said during the open workout for “ONE: Destiny of Champions” in Kuala Lumpur on December 4, 2018. “He has a great motor behind him and great cardio. I think he’s also very aggressive. I’m excited to test my skills against him.”

Subba was with his brother Keanu Subba, 24, during the open workout. The latter is competing in the featherweight division of ONE Championship.

“I’ve been preparing very hard here at home in Kuala Lumpur and with the great guys over at Bali MMA,” Gianni shared. “I’ve been working on everything in my game, my striking, my wrestling, my grappling. It’s all coming together and I hope to put on a show at the Axiata Arena.”

“I want to push the pace in this fight and look for the finish,” the Bali MMA athlete added. “I know my opponent is going to be doing the same so I have to be ready.”

Currently, Gianni holds a professional MMA record of 9 wins and 3 losses. He is coming out of a loss to Reece “Lightning” McLaren,27, of Australia on March 9, 2018 at “ONE: Visions of Victory” at the Axiata Arena.

On the other hand, Ma has 11 wins and 4 losses. He is coming out of a submission victory over “Tibetan Eagle” Su Mudaerji, 22, of Sichuan, China at “WLF: W.A.R.S. 28” on October 26, 2018 at the Henan TV Station in Zhengzhou, China.

In ONE Championship, Ma lost to his two most recent opponents both via unanimous decision. Danny “The King” Kingad, 23, of Baguio City, Philippines and Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhmetov, 31, of Almaty, Kazahstan defeated the Chinese fighter at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China on June 23, 2018 and at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 22, 2018.
