Fighting out of Malaysia, “Jordan Boy” Mohammed bin Mahmoud, 22, will make his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” He will compete under ONE Super Series in a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight division.
Feature nine mixed martial arts matches and four Muay Thai contests, “ONE: Destiny of Champions” will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 7, 2018. In the fifth bout of the evening, Mahmoud will face Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios, 28, of Greece.
“I am honored to walk alongside our Malaysian heroes, people I look up to and have supported,” Mahmoud said during the “ONE: Destiny of Champions” open workout in Kuala Lumpur on December 4, 2018. “Even before I joined ONE Championship, I was already proud of our heroes. Now, to be able to do what they do, it’s an honor for me.”
“I am truly grateful to ONE for giving me this opportunity,” Mahmoud added. “It’s a great chance for me to represent Malaysia on the global stage, which is very important to me.”
As a martial artist, Mahmoud considers himself a technical athlete. He explained, “I always show patience in my offense and defense.”
“Once I get a good read on my opponents, that’s when I try to look for openings and capitalize,” the Malaysian martial artist continued. “For my first fight, I want to give the fans a good show and bring home the knockout.”
Including Mahmoud, four Malaysian athletes are on the “ONE: Destiny of Champions” card. The other three are Gianni Subba, 25, Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 23, and Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 19.
