Myanmar vs Japan: Aung La N Sang, Ken Hasegawa rematch at ‘ONE: A New Era’ in Tokyo, Japan

Myanmar and Japan are among the countries that will be represented at “ONE: A New Era.” Taking place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on March 31, 2019, it is the first ever ONE Championship event in Japan.

“ONE: A New Era” will feature three title bouts. One of them is a rematch between reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La  N Sang of Myanmar and Ken Hasegawa of Japan.

The first encounter between Aung and Hasegawa took place in June 2018 was a five-round thriller of epic proportions, one which Aung La N Sang won in the final moments of the heated battle. The match is considered the greatest bout in ONE Championship history and was also awarded “Bout Of The Year” honors at the 2018 Global Martial Arts Awards for its nonstop action and dramatic finish.

Aung is the most iconic sports superstar to hail from Myanmar. “ONE: New Era” marks the first time he is defending his title outside his home country.
