Fighting out of Islamabad, Pakistan, Mehmosh “The Renegade” Raza, 23, is one of the rising stars of Brave Combat Federation. In his most recent bout in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion, he expressed his interest in facing an Indian opponent.
One fighter who responded to Raza’s call was Mohammed Farhad, 29. Fighting out of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, he has challenged Raza to a fight in the first semester of 2019.
The first event of Brave CF in 2019 will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Titled “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors,” it will mark the first event of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion to be held in the Philippines.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” will be headlined by reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 27, of the Philippines and former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France. Brave CF has yet to announce the complete fight card.
A featherweight bout between Raza and Farhad will be an interesting addition to the “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” card. Both fighters are coming out of a victory.
Farhad was one of the fighters who competed in Brave CF’s inaugural event, which took place at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on September 23, 2016. The Indian fighter knocked out Badr-Eddine Ahlzine, 27, of Morocco.
On April 23, 2017, Farhad knocked out Irfan “Inferno” Khan, 25, of Mumbai at “Brave 5: Go for Glory” at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. On November 17, 2017, Farhad lost to Hamza Kooheji, 26, of Bahrain at the Khalifa Sports City Arena at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.”
In Farhad’s most recent bout, which was at “Kumite 1 League” on September 30, 2018 at Dome at NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, he defeated Amr Abdel “Totti” Malek, 29, of Alexandria, Egypt. This improved the Indian fighter’s professional MMA record to 10 wins and 3 losses.
On the other hand, Raza currently has 9 wins and 3 losses. On October 27, 2018, he made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 17: Pakistan,” which took place at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan.
Featuring 10 MMA bouts, “Brave 17 Pakistan” was the first ever Brave CF event to take place in Pakistan. In the seventh bout of the evening, Raza submitted Arben “Big Bang” Escayo of the Philippines in the featherweight division.
