The Philippines will be among the 11 countries to be represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It will be the first show of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts Brave Combat Federation to be held in the Philippines.
Featuring 10 MMA bouts, “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. In the main event of the evening, Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France will challenge reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of the Philippines.
Boudegzdame is the former Brave CF Featherweight Champion. He and Loman are both competing in Brave CF for the fifth time.
Bahrain, Finland, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia, Sweden and the United States will also be represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” Loman is one of the 10 Filipino fighters on the card while Boudegzdame is the sole representative from France.
Boudegzdame is of Algerian descent. Training out of LaBonne Ecole in Montpellier, France, he has been competing professionally since 2012.
When Boudegzdame made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 2: Dynasty” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on December 2, 2016, he submitted Walel Watson via keylock. On March 31, 2017, the French-Algerian fighter became the inaugural Brave CF Featherweight Champion by submitting Masio “El Lobo” Fullen, 31, of Mexico via triangle choke at “Brave 4: Unstoppable” at the IPIC Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
On March 2, 2018, Boudegzdame successfully defended his belt at “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises” at the Prince Hamzah Sporting Hall in Amman, Jordan by submitting Jakub Kowalewicz, 25, of Poland via triangle choke. But on September 21, 2018, Bubba “Bad Man” Jenkins, 30, of the United States became the new champion by dethroning Boudegzdame via unanimous decision at “Brave 16” at the Mubadla Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Loman has been competing professionally since 2012. He is training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines.
During Brave CF’s inaugural event on September 23, 2016 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena, Loman defeated Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo, 27, of Dublin, Ireland via unanimous decision. On November 17, 2017, the Team Lakay fighter returned to at the same venue and became the inaugural Brave CF Bantamweight Champion by knocking out Gary “Saint Lion” Mangat, 32, of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.”
On June 9, 2018, Loman successfully defended his belt by defeating Mlambo via unanimous decision in their rematch at “Brave 13: Europe Evolution” at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. On November 16, 2018, the Team Lakay fighter returned to the Khalifa Sports City Arena where he successfully defended his title again through a unanimous decision win against Felipe Efrain, 24, of Sao Paolo, Brazil at “Brave 18: Bahrain.”
