ONE Championship held the official kick-off press conference for “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the W Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on February 13, 2019. In attendance at the event and part of the head table was ONE Championship group president Hua Fung Teh.
“Thailand has given the world one of the most famous martial arts in human history,” Teh stated. “Muay Thai is an intricately crafted and devastating striking style known for its effectiveness and power.”
The “ONE: Clash of Legends” fight night will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on February 16, 2019. With 14 countries represented, the fight card has 12 matches, which include five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts.
“It comes as no surprise that Thailand is recognized for having the best strikers in the world,” Teh noted. “That’s why we at ONE Championship love being back here. (It is) because we feel that we are one with the martial arts spirit and the culture of this beautiful country.”
In the main event of “ONE: Clash of Legends,” Nong-o Gaiyanghadao of Thailand and Han Zi Hao of China will compete for the inaugural ONE Super Series Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship. Teh said, “This Saturday, ‘ONE: Clash of Legends’ will showcase Muay Thai, together with other martial arts, in all their glory, and thrill fans all over the world.”
Nong-o and Han had their official face-off during the “ONE: Clash of Legends” press conference at the W Hotel. The event was also attended by athletes Kongsak P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym, Alaverdi Ramazanov, Shannon Wiratchai, Amarsanaa Tsogookhu, Rika Ishige and Nou Srey Pov.
