[PHOTOS] Philippines vs Malaysia: Gina Iniong, Jihin Radzuan fight at ‘ONE: Clash of Legends’ in Bangkok, Thailand

The Philippines and Malaysia were among the 14 countries to be represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” It was the first ONE Championship event in 2019 to be held in Thailand.

Featuring five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts, “ONE: Clash of Legends” took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. In the sixth bout of the evening, Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 29, of the Philippines faced Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 20, of Malaysia.

Iniong was the only fighter who represented the Philippines. Radzuan was the sole representative of Malaysia.

Blue Corner

Radzuan is a former Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Champion. She has been competing professionally since 2017 and she joined ONE Championship in 2018.

“ONE: Clash of Legends” marked Radzuan’s fourth ONE Championship bout. Training out of Ultimate MMA Academy in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, she entered the cage as an undefeated fighter.

Red Corner

Training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines, Iniong made a name for herself as a six-time national wushu champion. After establishing herself as one of the Philippines’ top female athletes, she joined ONE Championship in 2017 and has since registered impressive wins over a tough flight of opponents.

Iniong has been competing professionally since 2010. “ONE: Clash of Legends” marked her sixth ONE Championship outing.

Fight Result

Iniong and Radzuan competed in an MMA bout in the women’s atomweight division. Kemp Cheng served as the referee,

After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Cheng raised the hand of Iniong, who was declared the winner via split decision.

Winning at “ONE: Clash of Legends” improved Iniong’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Radzuan now has 4 wins and 1 loss.

“ONE: Clash of Legends” Main Events

In the co-main event of the evening, Kongsak P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 28, of Thailand faced Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov, 24, of Russia in a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight division. The Thai contender won via split decision.
In the main event, Nong-o Gaiyanghadao, 32, of Thailand and Han Zi Hao, 23, of China competed for the inaugural ONE Super Series Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship. The Thai contender won via unanimous decision.

Cambodia, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States will also be represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” Check all the results here.
