Jihin Radzuan thanks ONE Championship for giving her Gina Iniong as ‘ONE: Clash of Legends’ opponent

Two female wushu experts are battling it out at “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 29, of the Philippines will face Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 20, of Malaysia.

Iniong is a six-time Philippine National Wushu Champion. Likewise, Radzuan won the Federation International of Grandmaster Association Wushu title before ultimately making her transition to mixed martial arts.

“Iniong is a tough opponent,” Radzuan stated. “But I’m thankful to ONE for giving me someone like her because if you fight against easier opponents, you’ll never learn. You will not know your weakness, and you’ll never improve your game.”

Radzuan knows that she has a tall task at hand in facing a seasoned fighter like Iniong. But the Malaysian fighter insists that she is ready for whatever her Filipino opponent throws at her at “ONE: Clash of Legends.”

While giving Iniong her dues as a warrior, Radzuan is not selling herself short. Training out of Ultimate MMA Academy in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the Malaysian athlete believes she has what it takes to give her “ONE: Clash of Legends” opponent fits.

“I’m not going to predict or expect anything from this match,” Radzuan said. “She is the more experienced opponent and she will put on a performance However, I do not doubt my abilities and cannot look down on myself coming into the match.”

It will be the first time Radzuan will be battling outside of Malaysia. While she admits that there would be adjustments for her, she is glad that the bout is not in the Philippines, where fans are expected to be 100 percent behind Iniong, who is training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines.

“I cannot wait,” Radzuan shared. “It is going to be very different as the crowd is not from my country. But thankfully, this bout is not taking place in Manila.”
