[PHOTOS] Finland vs India: Toni Tauru, Gurgarshan Mangat fight at ‘ONE: Reign of Valor’ in Yangon, Myanmar

Finland and India were two of the 21 countries represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor,” the first ONE Championship event in 2019 held in Myanmar. The Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion held it at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on March 8, 2019.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” featured nine MMA matches and five ONE Super Series contests, which are kickboxing bouts. In the 10th bout of the evening, Toni “Dynamite” Tauru, 34, of Finland faced Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat, 32, of India.

Blue Corner

Mangat was born in Canada to Indian immigrants. As an MMA fighter, he has been competing professionally since 2011.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” marked Mangat’s ONE Championship debut. He previously competed in Battlefield Fight League, Super Fight League and Brave Combat Federation.

Red Corner

Tauru started his martial arts training when he was serving as a sniper with the military. He went on to become a Cage Warriors Bantamweight Champion.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” marked Tauru’s sixth ONE Championship bout. He was coming out of two-bout losing streak.

Fight Result

Tauru and Mangat competed in an MMA match in the flyweight division. The Indian contender knocked out his Finnish opponent via strikes after 1 minute and 23 seconds in the third round.

Winning at “ONE: Reign of Valor” improved Mangat’s professional MMA record to 14 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Tauru now has 11 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” Main Events

Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, 34, of Myanmar faced “The Iceman” Yohan Mulia Legowo, 38, of Indonesia in the co-main event. The Burmese contender knocked out his Indonesian opponent in the second round.

Georgiy “Knight” Kichigin, 28, of Kazakhstan challenged reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, of Sweden in the main event. After two five-minute rounds, the Swedish defending champion won via technical knockout via retirement.

Australia, Cambodia, China, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom were also represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” Check the complete results on Conan Daily.
