The Philippines and India were among the eight countries represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It was the first show of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation to be held in the Philippines.
Featuring nine MMA bouts, “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. In the first bout of the evening, Jomar Pa-ac, 21, of Baguio City, Philippines faced Satya Behuria, 23, of Kendraparha, Orissa, India.
It was Pa-ac’s fourth bout in Brave CF. On the other hand, it was Behuria’s second outing in the promotion.
Behuria is training out of Bali MMA in Bali, Indonesia. He has been competing professionally since 2015.
On December 22, 2018, Behuria made his successful Brave CF debut. He submitted his fellow Indian fighter Sarabjit Singh via triangle choke at “Brave 20: Hyderabad” at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India.
Pa-ac is training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City. On December 2, 2016, he made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 2: Dynasty” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain where he defeated Haider “The Giant” Farman, 23, of Pakistan via unanimous decision.
On March 31, 2017, Pa-ac defeated Atif “Little Hawk” Mohamed, 25, of Bahrain via split decision at “Brave 4: Unstoppable” at the IPIC Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. On May 11, 2018, the Team Lakay fighter was knocked out by Hussain “Iron” Ayyad, 25, of Bahrain at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” at Balai Sarbini in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Pa-ac and Behuria competed in the flyweight division at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” After three five-minute rounds, all of the three judges scored the fight 30-27 in favor of the Filipino contender.
Winning at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” improved Pa-ac’s professional MMA record to 6 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Behuria now has 1 win and 2 losses.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” Main Event
Cian “The Warrior” Cowley, 25, of Dublin, Ireland and John “The Trouble” Brewin, 24, of Auckland, New Zealand competed in the lightweight division in the co-main event of the evening. The Kiwi contender won via split decision.
In the main event, former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France challenged reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of the Philippines. The Filipino defending champion knocked out his French-Algerian opponent via strikes.
Bahrain, Finland, France, Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan were also represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” Pa-ac was one of the 11 Filipino fighters on the card while Behuria was the sole representative from India.
