The Philippines was among the eight countries represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It was the first show of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts Brave Combat Federation to be held in the Philippines.
Featuring nine MMA bouts, “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. The seventh bout of the evening was between Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, 22, and Mark “The Ruthless” Alcoba, 27.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” marked Pacatiw’s eighth Brave CF bout, making him the athlete with the most bouts in the promotion. On the other hand, Alcoba made his promotional debut.
Alcoba has been competing professionally since 2015. He is training out of is training out of Boss MMA in Las Piñas, Metro Manila.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” marked Alcoba’s second bout in 2019. The UGB athlete was riding a four-bout winning streak.
Competing professionally since 2015, Pacatiw is training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. He won four of his seven previous Brave CF bouts.
Pacatiw was coming out of two consecutive Brave CF wins. The Team Lakay fighter defeated Keith “Killa” Lee, 21, of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States via split decision at “Brave 14” at the Omnisports Indoor Club in Tangier, Morocco on August 18, 2018 and Uloomi “Kratos” Karim, 27, of Pakistan via unanimous decision at “Brave 17” at the Nistar Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan on October 27, 2018.
Pacatiw and Alcoba competed in the bantamweight division at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” The referee put a stop to the contest after 3 minutes and 6 seconds in the third round when the Team Lakay fighter submitted his opponent from Boss MMA via armbar.
Winning at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” improved Pacatiw’s professional MMA record to 9 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Alcoba now has 5 wins and 2 losses.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” Main Events
Cian “The Warrior” Cowley, 25, of Dublin, Ireland and John “The Trouble” Brewin, 24, of Auckland, New Zealand competed in the lightweight division in the co-main event of the evening. The Kiwi contender won via split decision.
In the main event, former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France challenged reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of the Philippines. The Filipino defending champion knocked out his French-Algerian opponent via strikes.
Bahrain, Finland, France, India, Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan were also represented at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” Pacatiw and Alcoba were two of the 11 Filipino fighters on the card.
