Egypt vs England: Ahmed Amir, Sam Patterson fight at ‘Brave 23: Pride and Honor’ in Jordan

Egypt and England were among the 16 countries represented at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” on April 19, 2019. It was the second Brave Combat Federation event to take place in Jordan.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, which included three title bouts, “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” took place at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. The second bout of the evening was between Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir, 28, of Egypt and Sam Patterson, 22, of England.

Amir was one of the two fighters who represented Egypt at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” while Patterson solely represented England. Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Tunisia, the United States and Wales were also represented.

Blue Corner

Amir made his successful professional MMA debut in 2011. He joined Brave CF in 2016.

“Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marked Amir’s sixth Brave CF bout. He previously competed in Desert Force MMA.

Red Corner

Patterson made his successful professional MMA debut in 2017. In the same year, he joined Brave CF.

“Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marked Patterson’s second Brave CF bout. He previously competed in Super Fight League, Rise of Champions MMA and Killacam Promotions, among others.

Fight Result

Amir and Patterson competed in the lightweight division.

In the first round, Amir dominated on the ground and almost submitted Patterson via rear-naked choke. They entertained the crowd with ground and clinch fighting in the second round.

After three five-minute rounds, the lightweight contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, the official result was a split draw.

The first judge scored it 28-28. The second judge scored it 29-28 in favor of Amir and the third judge scored it 29-27 in favor of Patterson.

Amir now has 9 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw. Patterson now has 4 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw.

Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Brazil challenged Brave CF Lightweight Champion Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 23, in the first co-main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]

Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, 31, of Tunisia and Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 27, of Bahrain competed for the inaugural Brave CF Super Lightweight Championship title in the second co-main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]

Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, challenged reigning Brave CF Welterweight Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan in the main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]
