[PHOTOS] Japan vs Kyrgyzstan: Yushin Okami, Kiamrian Abbasov fight at ‘ONE: For Honor’ in Jakarta, Indonesia

Japan and Kyrgyzstan were among the 16 countries represented at “ONE: For Honor.” It was the second ONE Championship event in 2019 that took place in Indonesia.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and four ONE Super Series contests, which are four Muay Thai bouts, “ONE: For Honor” took place at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 4, 2019. In the co-main event of the evening, Yushin “Thunder” Okami, 37, of Kanagawa, Japan and Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov, 25, of Novorossiysk, Kyrgyzstan.

Okami was one of the four fighters who represented Japan at “ONE: For Honor” while Abbasov solely represented Kyrgyzstan. Australia, Cambodia, China, England, India, Lithuania, Malaysia, Russia, Scotland, South Korea, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam were also represented.

Blue Corner

Originally from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Abbasov is training out of Novoros Fight in Novorossiysk. He was born in Bishkek on July 8, 1993.

A former Prime Selection GP Welterweight Champion, Abbasov has been competing professionally since 2011 and he joined ONE Championship in 2018. “ONE: For Honor” marked his third ONE Championship bout.

Red Corner

Born on July 21, 1981 in Kanagawa, Okami has been competing professionally since 2002. He previously competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Okami made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: For Honor.” He is training out of Wajutsu Keishukai Tokyo in Koto, Tokyo, Japan.

Fight Results

Okami and Abbasov competed in an MMA match in the welterweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee.

Coste put a stop to the contest after 1 minute and 10 seconds in the second round. Abbasov knocked out Okami.

Winning at “ONE: For Honor” improved the professional MMA record of Abbasov to 21 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Okami now has 35 wins and 13 losses.

Jonathan “The General” Haggerty, 21, of Walworth, London, United Kingdom challenged reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, 34, of Buriram, Thailand in the main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]
