[PHOTOS] Taiwan vs USA: Kai Ting Chuang, Janet Todd fight at ‘ONE: Masters of Destiny’ in Malaysia

Taiwan and the United States were among the countries represented at the ONE Championship event titled “ONE: Masters of Destiny” on July 12, 2019. The fight card featured mixed martial arts matches as well as ONE Super Series contests including Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts.

ONE Championship held “ONE: Masters of Destiny” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the eighth bout of the evening, former ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Champion Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Taipei, Taiwan faced Janet “JT” Todd, 33, of Torrance, California, USA.

Blue Corner

Todd is training out of is training out of out of Boxing Works in Torrance. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked her third ONE Super Series bout.

Red Corner

Chuang is training out of Iron Boxing in Nantun, Taichung, Taiwan. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked her third ONE Super Series bout.

Results

Elias Dolaptsis was the referee of the bout between Todd and Chuang, who competed in a kickboxing contest in the women’s atomweight division. It was the second kickboxing bout of the evening.

After three three-minute rounds, the kickboxing contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Dolaptsis raised the hand of Todd, who was declared the winner via majority decision.

Winning at “ONE: Masters of Destiny” improved the professional kickboxing and Muay Thai record of Todd to 34 wins and 11 losses. On the other hand, Chuang now holds a professional kickboxing record of 17 wins and 7 losses.

Countries

Including Taiwan and the U.S., , 20 countries were represented at “ONE: Masters of Destiny.” The others were Australia, Brazil, China, Finland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.

Antoniyar solely represented Myanmar at “ONE: Masters of Destiny.” Nguyen was one of the three representatives of the U.S. and the only representative of Vietnam.
