[PHOTOS] Thailand vs Italy: Jo Nattawut, Giorgio Petrosyan fight at ‘ONE: Dreams of Gold’ in Bangkok

Thailand and Italy were represented at “ONE: Dreams of Gold.” ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on August 16, 2019.

Featured on the “ONE: Dreams of Gold” card were seven mixed martial arts fights and seven ONE Super Series contests, which were three kickboxing matches and four Muay Thai contests. The 13th bout of the evening was between Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan, 33, of Italy and “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut, 29, of Thailand.

Including Italy and Thailand, 19 countries were represented at “ONE: Dreams of Gold.” The others were Brazil, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Cyprus, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Petrosyan solely represented Italy. Nattawut was one of the six athletes who represented Thailand.

Blue Corner

Born on October 7, 1989 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Nattawut has been competing professionally since 2014. He joined ONE Super Series in 2018.

“ONE: Dreams of Gold” marked Nattawut’s sixth ONE Super Series bout. He is training out of Bangkok Boxing Fitness in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Red Corner

Born in Yerevan, Armenia on December 10, 1985, Petrosyan was 13 years old when he moved to Italy with his family. He has been competing professionally since 2003 and joined ONE Super Series in 2018.

“ONE: Dreams of Gold” marked Petrosyan’s fifth ONE Super Series bout. He is training out of Team Petrosyan in Milan, Italy.

Results

Petrosyan and Nattawut competed in a ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semi-final bout. Elias Dolaptsis served as the referee.

Dolaptsis put a stop to the contest after 2 minutes and 50 seconds in the first round. Petrosyan knocked out Nattawut.

Winning at “ONE: Dreams of Gold” improved the professional kickboxing record of Ennahachi to 35 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Petchdam now has 94 wins, 16 losses and 7 draws.
