Japan and Thailand were among the countries represented at “ONE: Century 世紀” in Tokyo, Japan. The combat sports event had two parts with 11 bouts each.
Featuring mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and kickboxing matches, “ONE: Century 世紀” took place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 12, 2019. In the fourth bout of the first part, Itsuki “Strong Heart Fighter” Hirata, 20, of Tokyo, Japan and Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 30, of Bangkok, Thailand competed in an MMA bout in the women’s atomweight division.
“ONE: Century 世紀” was the second ONE Championship event held in Japan. It marked the martial arts organization’s 100th live event.
As part of the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest, ONE Championship held an open workout at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Tokyo featuring select “ONE: Century 世紀” athletes on October 6, 2019. The official press conference and face-offs took place at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo on October 10, 2019.
Including Japan and Thailand, a total of 18 countries were represented in the two parts of “ONE: Century 世紀.” The others were Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
Hirata was one of the 12 fighters who represented Japan. Ishige was one of the three representatives of Thailand.
