South Korea’s Do Gyeom Lee is new UAE Warriors Featherweight Champion

Do Gyeom “Undead” Lee, 28, is the new UAE Warriors Featherweight World Champion. Fighting out of Busan, South Korea, the South Korean mixed martial artist dethroned former champion Rolando “The Incredible” Dy, 28, of Davao City, Philippines at “UAE Warriors 8.”

UAE Warriors held “UAE Warriors 8” at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 18, 2019 with 12 professional MMA bouts. In the main event, Lee challenged Dy, who was the then reigning UAE Warriors Featherweight World Champion.

The referee put a stop to the title bout after 3 minutes and 3 seconds. Lee knocked Dy via strikes.

Winning at “UAE Warriors 8” improved the professional MMA record of Lee to 7 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Dy now has 12 wins, 8 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.

It was a redemptive win for Lee. He was coming out of a technical knockout loss to “Jigsaw” Moon Gi Bum, 29, of Daejeon, South Korea at “AFC 11: Challenge For New Champions” at the Sindorim Techno Mart Grand Ballroom in Seoul, South Korea on April 8, 2019.

Born on May 25, 1990, Lee has been competing professionally since 2014. He previously competed in GRACHAN, URCC Global and Angel’s Fighting Championship.

The Busan native is a former URCC Global Featherweight World Champion. He was dethroned by the current champion Mark “Mugen” Striegl, 32, of Baguio City, Philippines.

“UAE Warriors 8” marked Lee’s UAE Warriors debut. It was Dy’s third bout in the Abu-Dhabi based MMA promotion.

Dy was born on July 11, 1991 and he has been competing professionally since 2011. He previously competed in Pacific X-treme Combat, Legend Fighting Championship, the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Brave Combat Federation.
